As Eid-ul-Adha approaches, the MASTUL Foundation has launched a heartfelt Qurbani initiative reaching beyond the borders of Bangladesh to embrace the war-affected people of Gaza, Palestine. Driven by compassion and a profound sense of solidarity, this decision comes at a time when the people of Gaza are grappling with hunger and devastation.
Despite the ongoing hostilities and the refusal of ceasefire deals between Hamas and Israeli forces, MASTUL Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to support the suffering. The organization has already lost two of its dedicated volunteers to attacks by Israeli settlers while delivering aid to refugee camps in Gaza.
Each year, MASTUL Foundation distributes Qurbani meat to disadvantaged families across Bangladesh. This year, however, the Foundation has chosen to dedicate a portion of its Qurbani fund to Palestinians who have been enduring years of conflict and deprivation. The support will directly reach Palestinian refugees in Egypt as well as those in the Deir al-Balah and Khan Yunis camps in Gaza.
Kazi Reaz Rahman, Founder and Executive Director of MASTUL Foundation, shared his thoughts, stating:
“Qurbani is not merely a ritual—it embodies the spirit of sacrifice, compassion, and solidarity. While we have always stood beside the marginalized in Bangladesh, the plight of our Muslim brothers and sisters in Gaza has deeply touched our hearts. Through this Qurbani effort, we hope to bring some relief and joy to them during this sacred time.”
Expressing his support for this noble effort, Maulana Nurul Islam, a member of MASTUL Foundation’s Shariah Board, remarked:
“Alhamdulillah! This initiative reflects true generosity and extends the empathy of the Bangladeshi people to the international stage.”
Beyond immediate relief efforts, MASTUL Foundation is committed to long-term initiatives in Gaza, focusing on education for orphans, economic empowerment for widows, and rehabilitation for those affected by the ongoing crisis.
The Foundation is calling upon the well-off members of society to contribute generously to this cause and extend a hand of solidarity. Notably, starting this year, all donations to MASTUL Foundation will be eligible for tax exemptions.
“We humbly request your prayers and support so that we may continue to stand beside our oppressed brothers and sisters in Gaza,” the Foundation appeals.
