Introduction

MASTUL School is an institution where around 150 underprivileged children study for free. They also get one nutritious meal a day which the school provides for free. The school is located near the Buriganga river. It is a place where all the underprivileged children in the area can get together, learn and play just how they are supposed to instead of taking part in hazardous child labor or begging.

Why The School Is Necessary

There are around 7800 underprivileged children who live near the Buriganga river. Most of them do not have any place to stay, so they sleep on the streets. The kids beg for money all day, but it is barely enough to buy one meal. As a result, they are prone to malnutrition and other diseases. That is why Mastul’s free school for underprivileged children is so important. It allows kids to study and learn essential skills and build a promising future.

About The School And What Is Taught

MASTUL School is a place where underprivileged children get academic and psychological support. The children who study at our free school have a history of struggle and suffering because of poverty. So, we try our best to ease their troubled minds so that they can focus on studying. 

The school offers all sorts of activities to engage the children to learn in a stress-free way. They learn Math, Science, English, Bangla, Bangladesh & Global Studies, and Religion and Ethics. Other than that, they also learn technical skills that will help them earn money in the future.

We understand that for the children to learn, they need to take their minds off all the suffering that they had to endure daily. For this reason, we try to cheer them up with games, storytelling, singing, origami, and drama. We have a spacious playground for them to play in with one another.

Our beloved children learn how to read, write and speak to cope in society. They also learn about hygiene and ethical behavior. The result is batch after batch of charismatic future leaders who have integrity and big hearts.

Additional Support For The Children

Other than education and food, the School provides stationery, notebooks, and textbooks for free along with water bottles, lunch boxes, and school bags. We also vaccinate our children so that they do not fall sick.

We make sure that the children get the support that they need so we arrange parent-teacher meetings to get to the bottom of issues. Many of our children have had to go through a lot of trauma and it affects their ability to learn. We create a loving and nurturing environment for them where they can talk about their problems so that we can resolve them one by one.

The school also functions as a free daycare as many of the parents have to work long hours. So instead of roaming the streets, the children can play in the daycare facility. We keep lovely toys for the kids to play with while their parents are out working.

We are doing all that we can to help as many underprivileged children as possible. But there are thousands of vulnerable children on the streets who still need support. The only way that we can help them and expand our school is through your generosity.

Our sponsorship program starts at just 1000 BDT or $13 per month in share or jointly sponsoring. You can also sponsor a child individually. Your support is to support the health and nutrition of sponsored children and their communities.

Educate a Child

This includes sponsoring any underprivileged child in the MASTUL School who lives below the poverty line with a high risk of dropping out of school. This sponsorship starts at Tk 1000 for shared sponsorship and Tk 3,000 for the individual. The sponsored child will get school expenses, a uniform, shoes, books (extra books, art books, GK), class notebooks, and stationery.
