Starvation Under Siege: Gaza’s Deepening Food Crisis and MASTUL Foundation’s Lifeline

The humanitarian situation in Gaza has reached an unprecedented level of desperation. According to recent UN reports, over 470,000 people are facing catastrophic hunger, with children being the most affected. Entire families are surviving on minimal food, while hospitals are overwhelmed with malnutrition cases. The ongoing blockade has halted humanitarian aid, causing food prices to skyrocket and community kitchens to shut down.

Since March 2025, humanitarian convoys have been blocked at the borders, leaving food and medical supplies stranded. Thousands have lost their lives not only to bombings but also to starvation and disease caused by hunger.
MASTUL Foundation: Standing with Gaza
Amid this crisis, MASTUL Foundation has been one of the few organizations consistently extending a helping hand to Gaza. Since early 2024, MASTUL has been:
- 🚚 Delivering daily food packages to displaced families and children.
- 💧 Supplying clean water to areas where access has collapsed.
- 🍼 Providing baby food and nutrition supplements to malnourished infants.
- 👩👧 Rescuing and supporting orphans, with plans to bring war-affected children to Bangladesh for long-term care.
- 🤝 Partnering with local NGOs to distribute emergency aid directly to communities.
Even during Ramadan, when access was most difficult, MASTUL managed to serve iftar and sehri meals to thousands of fasting Gazans, ensuring they did not go to bed hungry.

Global Calls for Action
While international agencies warn that Gaza is heading towards a full-scale famine, the world response remains inadequate. Air-drops of food by a few nations have been symbolic but insufficient. Human rights groups continue to urge for immediate opening of humanitarian corridors to allow life-saving aid.
